Although this watercolor painting was made with Eagle Lake in northwestern California in mind, it could be a scene from anywhere where water and mountains intersect.
It is quite a lively scene with lots of intersecting lines.
The aqua water in the foreground is welcoming and entices swimmers to take a dip in the cool water. Eagle Lake is at a high elevation so the water isn’t warm.
Most of all, the lake has been a Mecca for fishermen and women, such as me, who catch the delicious Eagle Lake trout. The flesh is white but turns a beautiful pink color when cooked or smoked. Nothing better! And such a challenge to bring in.
I have been taking pictures since I was young. I love the outdoors and enjoy taking landscape and botanical photos. With my lifelong interest in and study of interior design and architecture, I greatly enjoy taking pictures of buildings, interiors, and art. I have pursued my love of art and creation by making collages with many different themes. I am also interested in the Aboriginal arts of Australia, Pointillism, Dot Art, and watercolors.
