Description
The Rancho Mirage Public Library, completed in 2006, serves thousands of enthusiastic patrons every year. It is not only a library, but is a wonderful community meeting place, with parking for hundreds of cars. The Friends of the Library Book Nook is filled with hundreds of books and magazines for sale, including huge art and photography books. A vast number of books, CDs, DVDs, and so forth are borrowed. The modern library, built on land donated by the Annenberg Foundation, was designed by Meyer, Scherer, and Rock Castle Ltd; Cunningham Group Architects, P.A. The completely desert scape plants are an important part of the setting, as are beautiful bronze sculptures. It is a must-see place when you visit the desert!
