Artist's Description

Percy the Pelican has a wonderful story of recovery. She had been found wrapped in a fishing net, and as she was about to be "discarded" she stirred a little. The owner of the river boat who handled her carefully unwound the nearly gone bird. Now she hangs out on the dock by his boat, and is well fed. The slight pink reflection is from the red boat. She had her beak almost on my shoulder!
This picture was taken in Albany, SW Australia, when I was waiting on a boat to go up the ancient Kalgon River. A wonderful day!

About Kirsten Giving

Kirsten Giving

I have been taking pictures since I was young. I love the outdoors and enjoy taking landscape and botanical photos. With my lifelong interest in and study of interior design and architecture, I greatly enjoy taking pictures of buildings, interiors, and art. I have pursued my love of art and creation by making collages with many different themes. I am also interested in the Aboriginal arts of Australia, Pointillism, Dot Art, and watercolors. I have included some of my work in various Collections. I am a retired teacher, play golf, travel, camp, make jewelry, read, paint, make collages, and sew. Thank you for viewing my galleries.
